The extensive resources of the National Jazz Archive have been opened up by a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The successful three-year project ‘The Story of British Jazz’ has improved public access to our rich and diverse holdings.

The National Jazz Archive was delighted and privileged to join with the London Borough of Waltham Forest in recognising and celebrating the life of Kenny Wheeler, a much loved jazz musician who contributed greatly to The Story of British Jazz.
Master clarinettist Dave Shepherd brings his Quintet to play for the Archive in this afternoon fundraising concert. The Quintet features Roger Nobes (vibes), John Pearce (piano), Paul Morgan (bass) and Stan Bourke (drums).
